About Faithful Sketches

Hi, I’m Jeanette, the creator behind Faithful Sketches. I believe God’s Word should be accessible to everyone, including those who have learning challenges like me. Through doodle animation and visual storytelling, I break down complex Bible topics, church history, and Christian theology into clear, engaging content you’ll actually understand and remember.

I’m not a pastor, a theologian, or a Bible expert. I’m someone who is still learning, and this site is where I document what I learned.

How It Started

For about 15 years I attended a church that leaned heavily on prosperity teaching. I sat through countless services but never really learned how to read the Bible for myself. That changed five years ago, when my mother suffered a stroke and later developed dementia. I left my job to care for her and my daughter on my own. It was the hardest season of my life, and out of sheer desperation I started seeking God and reading Scripture seriously for the first time.

The more I read, the more I noticed that most of what I had been taught did not line up with what the Bible actually says. That realization led me to leave that church and study the Word more deeply on my own.

As someone with with dyslexia and ADHD, learning wasn’t easily. I filled notebooks with scribbles and notes but struggled to organize or remember any of it. So I started creating Faithful Sketches: simple, visual explanations of the questions I was asking myself. I spent a year learning to use designing and editing tools to turn my research and notes into something clear enough for me to understand, and hopefully clear enough to help others who learn the way I do.

How This Site Works

Every topic here starts with a genuine question I had. I research it using Scripture, books and reputable online resources, then I use tools to help me turn my notes and research into the posts and visuals you see. On debated topics, I try to present more than one viewpoint fairly so you can understand and study and decide for yourself.

Please note that I’m still learning, and I don’t claim that everything here is perfectly correct. I’m just someone studying God’s Word and sharing what I find along the way. If you spot something I got wrong, please let me know. There might also be some spelling mistakes which stems from my dyslexia I apologise and I’d appreciate your grace with it.

Every visual guide on this site is free to download for your personal use. Use them for your own study, your small group, or to share with a friend who learns visually like I do. Please don’t resell them, upload them or use them commercially. They’re here to help people understand God’s Word, not to be sold.
